In preparation for the final group podcast recording, my groupmates and I met on February 17th at 5 pm. Overall, the discussion went well and everyone seemed on track. After I set a basic script, everyone took responsibility and filled in their section of the podcast with their own resources, opinions, and explanations.
The roles and speaking time for each group member are:
Groupmember 1: Jia
Speaks in all segments
Host and Script Coordinator
Groupmember 2: Shane
Speaks in segment 2
Podcast Editor and Speaker
Groupmember 3: Doris
Speaks in segment 3
Podcast Director and Speaker
Groupmember 4: Tayven
Speaks in segment 2 and 3
Microsite Designer/Finalist and Researcher
For the technical aspects of the podcast, we decided as a group that it would be best for all of us to meet on zoom and have a group recording session, except for Doris, who will be recording her own section on her own time due to her different timezone. For the content and structure of the podcast itself, we created a basic script with adequate information that flows together. We predicted that, in total, each body segment will have 8 minutes of talking each; and, the introduction and conclusion paragraphs will be about 3-5 minutes each with me as the host who will begin and end the podcast.
Some things we decided that we needed to do in preparation for the final recording are:
Meet up on Thursday (2/18) to practice with the whole group.
During this practice meeting, we will run through the whole podcast and record our time to make sure we are within the time limit.
To have Doris record her own section of the podcast.
To find multiple sources for pictures and an editing software for Shane to use to create the final product.
In conclusion, we will meet up on Friday (2/18) to record the final draft of the podcast and ultimately finish the website and podcast edit before the deadline on Sunday (2/21).
